EMDR Therapy Near Surprise, AZ
Trauma-Informed Care for the West Valley
Serving Surprise, AZ | In-Person Sessions | Located in Peoria, minutes away
Surprise has grown faster than almost anywhere else in Arizona. In the span of a decade, neighborhoods that did not exist became communities, and people came from across the country to start over, start a family, or start the next chapter. What that growth does not always bring with it is infrastructure. Including mental health infrastructure.
Young families navigating the early years of parenthood in a city where they may not yet have community. Moms carrying an invisible mental load alongside postpartum experiences that did not resolve on their own. Couples under the pressure of a new home and young children and lives that look right on paper but feel harder than they expected.
Inside Out Therapy + Consulting is located in Peoria, directly adjacent to Surprise, with in-person EMDR and trauma-informed care for adults, teens, and children across the West Valley.

Why EMDR + why Inside Out
EMDR is one of the most researched and effective treatments available for trauma, anxiety, and the patterns that persist even when people understand exactly what is driving them. Every clinician at Inside Out is trained in EMDR through the same instructor, grounded in Francine Shapiro's foundational model. Learn more about how EMDR works and what to look for in a provider.
What that means in practice is that when you work with anyone at Inside Out, you are not gambling on the quality of the approach. The clinical standard is consistent across the team. The fit with a specific clinician is about the relationship and the presenting concerns, not about whether one person's training is better than another's.
We work with adults, teens, and children as young as five. Our specialties include trauma and PTSD, anxiety and chronic stress, perinatal and postpartum presentations, attachment wounds, grief and life transitions, and children's emotional regulation. Meet the full team and find the right fit.
A note for Surprise moms and families
Motherhood in a fast-growing city can be a particular kind of lonely. The neighborhood is new. The friendships are still forming. The support systems that existed before the move are now a phone call away instead of down the street. And underneath all of it, there is often a version of yourself that has not had space to be anything other than a parent, a partner, and someone keeping everything running.
Perinatal and postpartum anxiety, the mental load of parenting, and the identity shifts that come with having children are presentations we work with regularly at Inside Out. If you are a mom in Surprise who has been managing quietly and is ready to stop, our attachment and relationship page is a good place to start. Our anxiety page speaks to the high-functioning presentation that often flies under the radar.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out…
You just have to be ready for something different.
Inside Out works with moms, families, and individuals from Surprise and across the West Valley.
